Places and geofences

A place is a point with a radius: a depot, a customer, a port. A vehicle that enters or leaves it makes a visit.

Add a place​

Places → Add a place → name, category, latitude and longitude, radius → Add place.

Visits​

A place → Recent visits: each vehicle that entered and left, with its dwell time. Reports → Geofence visits lists them for a period.

Alerts and other uses​

  • An alert rule of kind Geofence watches one place, or every place of a category, for enter, exit or both. See Alert rules.
  • Entering a warehouse's place checks a dock appointment in; see Docks and yard.
  • Secure trip routes start and end at saved places; see Cargo security.
