Drivers

Drivers lists each driver with employee number and licence. The Division filter works as on Vehicles.

Hire a driver

Hire a driver → names, employee number, licence number, country, classes, expiry → Hire driver. A Saudi organisation enters the date of birth and the licence's expiry in either calendar; see Languages and theme.

The driver signs in to the driver app once invited to the organisation with the driver role; see Team.

A driver's vehicle

A vehicle's page names its driver. The driver changes when:

  • you assign another driver; or
  • the driver identifies with a key at the vehicle (below).

Trips, driving hours, dispatch, safety scores and traffic fines count the driver at the wheel.

Driver keys: iButton and RFID

Each driver may hold a Dallas iButton and an RFID card. Touched to the reader wired to the vehicle's tracker, the key makes them the vehicle's driver. Nobody reassigns the truck by hand when shifts change.

  1. Drivers → a driver → Keys → the iButton or RFID id as printed on the key, or as the reader shows it. Another driver's key is refused.
  2. Driver identification lists every read: who, which vehicle, when, and the outcome.

A key is rejected when no driver holds it, or the driver may not drive (suspended, terminated, on leave, licence expired). A rejected key raises the Driver key alert on the vehicle and its e-mail, for example Driver key: unknown iButton … presented — not a key the fleet gave a driver. The same key held on the same tracker within 8 hours is one session.

Who is away

Drivers on leave show Away … – … on Drivers, in the dispatch picker and in the manager app. People with payroll access also see the kind of leave. A driver on leave over a job's days cannot be given the job; see Dispatch and Leave.

Documents

A driver's licence, medical certificate, residence permit (Iqama) and passport are on Documents. An expired licence is a critical alert.
