Trailers, reefers and e-locks
Trailers lists trailers and containers: the vehicle each is coupled to, its last position, cargo temperature, and its e-seal.
Register an asset
Register asset (or Edit) → its details → Tracker or e-lock: the device that reports for it. Register the device first; see Devices and trackers.
Cold chain
Before relying on cargo alerts, confirm that the fitted tracker reports the chosen sensor channel and that the installer has verified the probe's physical location.
Choose the temperature source
- Open Trailers → Register asset or Edit. Choose a refrigerated trailer or container and its Tracker or e-lock: the device actually fitted to this asset.
- Under Temperature source, choose Named tracker sensor for a particular probe. Enter its exact Sensor channel, for example
dallas-1. Teltonika Dallas observations usedallas-1throughdallas-4; match the channel to the installer's wiring record and the device's observations. The channel name does not identify a compartment or prove where the probe is fitted. - Set the temperature setpoint, tolerance and Minutes out of range for this cargo, then save. A named source needs the asset's assigned tracker. If saving reports a failure, resolve it and reopen the asset to confirm the fitted device and saved source before treating monitoring as configured.
A configured named source uses only that tracker and exact Celsius channel. A missing, duplicated, invalid or differently named reading never selects another probe or falls back to declared cargo temperature. A position update alone does not provide a temperature measurement. Do not infer that a missing observation means the cargo is within range.
Declared cargo temperature uses an explicit cargo-temperature observation from a compatible producer when no named source is selected. It does not select the first Teltonika Dallas probe. Those probes remain named observations until you bind the appropriate channel to this asset.
Read the temperature and excursion history
The temperature's Observed time belongs to the accepted temperature reading. The asset's last-seen position can be newer; it does not refresh that measurement. Observation time unknown means there is no recorded temperature observation time, including historical values without one.
An excursion opens after the selected temperature remains outside the configured setpoint and tolerance for the configured duration. It ends as measured recovery only after an in-range reading. Changing the source or monitoring profile ends the old excursion with a configuration-change reason; retiring the asset has its own end reason. Neither is evidence that the cargo cooled or warmed back into range. Historical entries may have no recorded end reason.
Changing the tracker clears the old named binding and stored temperature. Select and verify the new tracker's channel; a new accepted reading starts its detection window. Changing the source also clears its old reading. Check the new source and observation time before continuing to rely on alerts.
Chain of custody
A trailer → Chain of custody: every event in order: seal armed, excursion, gate-in, gate-out, seal tampered, seal opened, custody hand-offs. The yard's gate-in and gate-out are on it too.
E-seals and e-locks
- A seal found swapped is a critical e-seal alert.
- An e-seal reporting its battery under 30 % is E-seal battery low (medium); it clears at 35 %.
- A sealed trailer that moves (faster than 10 km/h, or 200 m from where it was sealed) with no secure trip carrying it is Moved while sealed, on no trip (high). It clears when the seal comes off.
These raise alerts through a Trailer condition rule; see Alert rules.
Huabao e-locks
- Register the lock: Kind E-seal, Protocol Huabao e-locks (JT/T 808), its terminal number, and its Command password (PIN). The PIN is kept sealed and never shown again; the form can replace or remove it.
- Fit it to the trailer. When the lock is shut on its rope with its seal number, the seal shows armed with that number, and its battery.
- Open the seal: the trailer → E-lock → Open seal → the reason (a customs inspection, a delivery) → Open seal. The lock is sent its PIN from the record; nobody types it. The panel shows what the lock answered: the lock opened, or that it refused.
- Once open, the seal is off the doors and seal opened is a trailer condition until it is armed again.
An unlock by RFID card at the lock is reported, with the card on the lock's record.
