Marketplace and adapters
The marketplace
The marketplace lists what extends ZAITRACK, most installed first.
- Filters: availability (included, planned), pricing, country and rating. Each choice is counted with the others held. On a phone the filters fold under Filters.
- Search reaches the title, summary, capabilities and the publisher's name.
- Included listings are built in for every organisation, free. Open in the console goes to the page where each is used, for example a device codec to Trackers.
- Planned listings are not built yet and cannot be installed.
Write a review
- Sign in (topbar) with your ZAITRACK account.
- A listing → Write a review: rating, title, what you found, name and organisation → Send the review. It is shown once ZAITRACK has checked it.
- Account → My reviews: each review Waiting, Shown, or Not shown with the reason.
A member reviews a listing once. ZAITRACK's staff curate listings, publishers and reviews.
The freight marketplace, where shippers and carriers trade loads, is a different page in the console; see Freight marketplace.
Adapter Studio
Adapter Studio is where publishers ship adapters and organisations install them. An organisation's owners and admins make changes; its other members read.
Publish an adapter
- Signing keys → Register a key: a PEM ECDSA P-256 public key.
- Projects → a project → Submit a version: the manifest, its signature and the key. The hint gives the signing command; the developer site explains it.
- ZAITRACK records a conformance run and approves or rejects the version. A version is approved only with at least 85 % coverage and no failures.
- Versions shows each with its signer's fingerprint and conformance; Installations, one per organisation, with its version and status.
Revoke a key with a reason (asked first): every version it signed is revoked and their installations suspended. The revocation list shows the keys revoked, with when and why.
Install an adapter
Installations:
- Install an adapter: an approved version.
- Upgrade to another approved version.
- Change settings: one field per setting the manifest declares. Secret settings are never shown back.
- Suspend, Resume, Uninstall (asked first).
A version revoked by its publisher suspends the installation. A revoked version cannot be resumed; choose an approved replacement. A suspended codec remains suspended while its replacement is prepared.
Codec preparation
Where codec preparation is enabled, Runtime preparation shows the current version, the preparation target and the latest result. If the registry does not supply this information, its absence does not mean the installation is ready.
- A new codec installation starts as Preparing. It becomes active after its signed adapter passes preparation.
- During an upgrade, the current version stays bound until the replacement passes. A failed replacement does not remove the current runnable version. A suspended installation stays suspended.
- Pending means work is queued or will be retried. Temporary service outages are retried. Failed means the target needs attention; review the reason and target version before retrying.
- Ready means the target passed preparation. Read the current-version message separately: an upgrade may be pending while the current version has already passed.
- Legacy means an existing binding was preserved without a recorded preparation result. It does not mean the device failed, and it does not claim a successful health check. Existing installations are not automatically rechecked merely because preparation is introduced.
- If you change settings used by a preparation check while it is running, the check is repeated with the updated settings. An earlier pass or refusal does not decide the new settings. Revocation still prevents activation.
- Last result records the latest completed preparation attempt, including a failed one. Read it together with the state; it is not a live device-health timestamp.
- An owner or admin whose plan includes Marketplace adapters can choose Retry preparation for a Failed or Legacy installation. Review the named target and confirm. The current binding remains until the target passes, and a suspended installation stays suspended.
- An unprepared new codec cannot be resumed to bypass the check. Removing its installation cancels pending preparation; a late result cannot restore it.
Preparation checks adapter code. It does not send a device command or prove that your tracker is connected, operational storage is available, or a particular model and firmware work. Verify a real device in the correct organisation; see Codec readiness.
Availability and limits
- A partner cannot see the installations of the organisations under it.
- Supported signed codec adapters run in an isolated, resource-bounded WebAssembly runtime, not unrestricted in the browser or host. Installation and preparation do not by themselves prove a successful device exchange.
- A project's marketplace listing is curated separately.
