Tolls and traffic fines

Tolls

Tolls → Charges: each charge from the toll operator's file, matched by tag (or plate) to the vehicle, its trip and its driver.

Flagged charges, each a toll anomaly alert:

  • a repeat of the same crossing;
  • elsewhere: the vehicle was not there;
  • an unknown plate.

Act on them:

  • Dispute the charge with a reason;
  • Assign a vehicle to an unmatched charge.

This month by vehicle: spend per vehicle. Toll tags → Register tag. Importing the same file again changes nothing. A line with no tag, plate or vehicle is refused with its number.

Traffic fines

The GCC's traffic authorities publish no API for fleets, so fines come from their statements, pasted or imported:

  • Saudi Arabia: SAHER cameras and Muroor;
  • UAE: the seven emirates' police: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain;
  • Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain: their traffic departments;
  • Oman: the Royal Oman Police.

Each fine is matched by plate to the vehicle (however the plate is written; see Vehicles), and by the trip at that moment to the driver at the wheel, else the vehicle's primary driver. When the authority gives a location, it is checked against where telemetry put the vehicle: vehicle elsewhere.

Import a statement

Traffic fines → Import a statement → the authority → one violation a line: ref, plate, YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM (local time), amount, black points, description, location → Imported N fines. Importing the same statement again changes nothing.

Work a fine

Fines lists each: authority, violation, place, plate and vehicle, driver, amount, black points, status.

  • Record it paid (with the payment reference, for example SADAD).
  • Dispute it with the authority; a fine cancelled after the objection reads cancelled.
  • Who bears it: the company or the driver.
  • Recover from pay: … is deducted from the driver's pay period, once. It appears as a line on the driver's statement. A fine in another currency than the driver's pay plan cannot be deducted.

Recovering from pay needs payroll access (owners and admins).

Black points

Black points in the last 12 months: each driver's points, fines and licence at risk at the suspension threshold. The threshold is set per fleet: 24 by default (the UAE's).

The manager app shows Licences at risk, and a driver's fines. Drivers see their own in My pay.
