Maintenance and inspections

Service plans

A plan falls due by the tracker's odometer, engine hours or the calendar. Maintenance → Due lists what is due. A plan that falls due:

  • opens a preventive work order with its tasks;
  • raises a service reminder alert and e-mail naming the plan and the vehicle.

Once completed the plan restarts from the vehicle's meter.

Work orders

Work orders: open and completed, with their priority, who they are assigned to and when they are due.

  • Complete → odometer, labour, parts, currency (the organisation's by default). The service reminder resolves.
  • Change an open one: title, priority, assignee, due date (empty: none).

Parts

Parts → a part → Edit: name, number, cost, stock. Archive keeps it on the work orders that used it and stops offering it on new ones. Show archived parts → Restore.

Inspections

Drivers inspect their truck in the driver app: Today → Inspect my truck → Before the trip (or after) → each item OK or Defect (how bad, what is wrong) → Sign and submit.

  • A critical defect takes the truck off the road: Submitted. The truck is off the road until the workshop clears the defect. Today says Not safe to drive, and an off the road alert opens on the truck.
  • A major defect keeps the truck drivable.
  • Each defect opens a corrective work order (a critical brake defect: priority critical).

In the console, Maintenance → the inspection reports: each defect with its work order. Sign off a defect: no repair needed or repaired. Completing the work order clears the report; the truck is drivable again and the alert resolves.

The mechanic's console shows the workshop's view: work orders to complete, defects to sign off.
