Driving hours and tachograph
Driving hours
Driving hours shows each driver's time left to drive and the breaks due, under the EU 561/2006 rules.
- Duty status is automatic: a moving vehicle logs its driver as driving.
- A driver may change status in the driver app (Hours), also offline; it is sent once back online.
- A violation (for example 4 h 30 driving without a break) is an alert and an e-mail naming the driver.
Drivers see their clocks and status in the driver app → Hours. Statutory working hours and overtime under the GCC labour laws are in Payroll.
Tachograph
Tachograph keeps EU tachograph downloads, checked against EC 561/2006.
- Driver cards: each card linked to its driver, and its downloads.
- Infringements: for example 6 h driving without a break, very serious → Coach the driver or Dismiss the infringement. A very serious infringement raises a high alert.
- Vehicle units: each vehicle's unit and when its next download is due (for example in 90 days).
- Stored files: each download, byte for byte as uploaded. Stored files cannot be changed.
- Upload downloads → a
.dddfile: stored and checked. The same file again is recognised; a file that is not a tachograph file is refused.
In the driver app, Hours → Tachograph: the driver's card, the next download due, each infringement explained, and a copy of their card file.
